Our Green Sanctuary Summer Celebration outing will be on Saturday, June 3rd at Schodack Island State Park, starting at 11:30am. Bring your picnic ware and a potluck dish to share. You’ll need comfortable shoes for hiking and a water bottle. The park shelters a Bird Conservation Area that is home to bald eagles, cerulean warblers and blue herons that nest in the cottonwood trees. Eight miles of trails wind through a variety of ecological communities. (We don’t expect to hike all 8 miles.) As usual, we’re inviting the other HMUU congregations to join us, and everyone is welcome. We’ll plan to carpool, since there is a parking fee of $6 per vehicle. To let us know if you’re interested in coming, contact Nancy at gs.uuss06@gmail.com or 374-5810.
