Green Sanctuary invites you to join us for our annual celebration of the beauty of Mother Earth as she puts on her festive celebration of the coming of summer at Woods Hollow on the north edge of Ballston Spa.
WHEN: Saturday, June 11, 3:00-5:00pm
WHAT TO BRING: Comfy shoes (may be mud), water, trail snack, sun & bug protection
LOCATION: Woods Hollow is at the intersection of Northline Rd and Rt 50 in Ballston Spa, turn onto Northline heading west toward Rowland. Watch for parking pull-in on the right about halfway up the hill. This small preserve includes four distinct habitats: a sandy pine barren, a red pine forest, a lakeshore woods trail, and a wetland woods trail. In early June the blue lupines are flowering in the pine barren and the pink lady’s slippers are blooming wherever pines grow. Various other late spring flowers can be seen, as well as a number of pine barrens species. Listen for a variety of song birds.
