Then and Now

Rev. Julie Taylor, Rev. Wendy Bartel, & Rev. Lynn Gardner

The horrific and tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 brought immediate and lasting changes. We will acknowledge the losses, as well as some of the lessons learned, and consider how they might be relevant to the challenges we face today.

The nursery will be open, and there will be a Children’s Chapel in Waters House for kids K-6th. Grades 7-12 are welcome in worship, though it will be perhaps harder for some kids given the topic.

Rev. Julie Taylor is a Unitarian Universalist community minister specializing in critical incident response, community crisis and pastoral care. Rev. Taylor is the Senior Director of Contextual Ministry at Meadville Lombard Theological School. In addition, Julie serves as a chaplain (Capt) with the New York Air National Guard and was a chaplain at St. Paul’s Chapel during the 9/11 World Trade Center response. Agitating, preaching, and working towards dismantling systems of White Supremacy are key in Rev. Taylor’s theology and work.
