On this Indigenous People’s weekend, we welcome Rev. Karen Van Fossan, who served in Bismarck/Mandan, North Dakota, in ongoing solidarity with Water Protectors at Standing Rock. Four years later, after the thousands of visitors have gone, the movement continues, and Rev. Karen continues to be active in it. She has become a committed prison abolitionist serving the Water Protectors who are held as political prisoners of the U.S. government. How does their incarceration impact our mutual liberation? What has she learned about strength for the journey along the way?
