Our Unitarian Universalist faith invites us to recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every person—including ourselves. That invitation can be difficult when emotions are raw and wounds run deep. Yet forgiveness opens the possibility of healing, not because the past changes, but because we choose not to let it define our future. Forgiveness does not erase what happened. Instead, it is a courageous choice to loosen the grip that pain has on our hearts.
