Sensitivities to Scents

Things like powders, perfumes, colognes, lotion, deodorants, after shave, even fabric softener, laundry detergent, and dryer sheets can cause those with chemical and scent sensitivities to be unable to breathe. We ask that you please limit the wearing of scented products when attending worship and programs indoors at UUSS so that folks with these sensitivities can also participate in the congregation.

The labeling of products can be a little tricky sometimes. Even things that say unscented are often treated with some kind of chemical scent to mask the smell. Fragrance free is often a safer way to go. Using personal items with less chemicals is also good for you and the planet! You can learn more here: EPA gov site
