Summer Religious Education for grades 1-5 will take place Sundays through August 26 at 10:30 and we’ll meet at Waters House. Here is the schedule:

8/12: Come, Tell a Tale with Me (writing fun) – Allison Collins & Lyndsi Wickert
8/19: Balloon Bonanza – Elaine and Tom Person & Maia Regan
8/26: Mindfulness -Tamara Geveci & Robin Ahearn, DLRE

The Nursery is available for children five and under. As always, all Children and Youth are welcome to attend worship services.

Community Gardening Opportunity for UUSS Senior Youth…
Hey Senior Youth! Let’s meet up at The Vale Urban Farm, at the Brandywine end of Vale Cemetery in Schenectady, on Monday, August 13, at 4pm
to do some community gardening! You’ll need to bring gardening gloves, closed toed shoes and lots of water to drink. We’ll be working with Melissa MacKinnon who will have all the other supplies we’ll need. Please let me know if you’re gonna be able to make it by Wednesday, August 1, as Melissa needs an idea of how many of us will be helping out.

After the gardening is done, we’ll take our brown-bag dinners and have a picnic nearby (location tbd). Maybe toss a frisbee around a while too. Pick-up will be ~7 and we’ll let folks know where to do pick-up once we have our picnic location chosen.

If you have any questions, call (607) 435-2803 or email dlre@uuschenectady.org.  RE classes begin Sunday, September 16, at 10:30, with the exception of Our Whole Lives (OWL) for grades 7/8 and 11/12, which will take place Sunday evenings from 6:30-8pm; there will be “regular” (lighter!) RE classes for grades 7/8 and 11/12 Sunday mornings at 10:30am as well. If you’re interested in being a part of RE, let me know–we have lots of volunteer opportunities!
