A book of short stories, The Secret Lives of Church Ladies has won the PEN/Faulkner Award, the $20,000 Story Prize, and the L.A. Times Award for First Fiction and was a National Book Award finalist. The collection of short stories is also the March selection for the Baltimore County Public Library’s Anti Racism Book Discussion. If you’re wondering if there is sexuality in this book you’re right!
