Beauty in Community – For some of us, beauty is like vitamins. We need a regular dose to maintain wellness. For some of us, beauty is like water-absolutely essential and we need vast quantities every day for our well-being. For some, beauty is like vacation-you experience it when you intentionally carve out time from your day-to-day and seek it out. And for a few, beauty is not something that you particularly notice or feel is essential.

And still, we can be part of the same community because even if we ourselves are not that clued in to beauty, we do not wish to deny others of a beautiful experience or something they need. When Rev. Norbert Capek created the Flower Ceremony over 100 years ago, he was infusing his large congregation with natural beauty. We carry on this tradition to remind us of the power of beauty in community!
