January’s Theme – Finding Courage

There are times when we face seemingly insurmountable challenges. Often those are external yet we can also create our own internal hurdles. We feel afraid or we are experiencing shame. We don’t want to be vulnerable or take risks. What if we’re not good enough? What if we make a mistake? What if we make the wrong decision?

For the turning of the year, what might we need to remember, to let go of, to embrace? What legacies from Rev. Dr. King can still guide us towards more justice and equity, that we might move as one congregation, one denomination towards collective action? What are the needs and opportunities we are facing? How do we dare cover the terrain and close the distance between our heads and our hearts? How do we meet this moment as people of faith?
