Green Sanctuary Team Events for September!

There are several wonderful opportunities to be involved for climate justice this month!

There is one more week to make a comment on the EPA’s reversal of the Endangerment Finding! Check out UUSC’s tip sheet (or visit our table in the Great Hall!) for info about how to write a comment. If you’d like to learn more about the Endangerment Finding, you can also read the resources shared at this Sunday’s Coffee and Crullers. Deadline for public comments is Monday, September 22nd.

On Sunday, September 21st after service, carpool to Albany for the Sun Day Festival! Inspired by the transformative impact of the original Earth Day in 1970, Sun Day is a global day of action spotlighting how solar and wind are the most affordable, most reliable, and most expeditious sources of energy. The Albany event at the Empire State Plaza features an exposition hall, panel discussions, teach-ins, climate films, a climate songfest, and a radiant Sun Day wool tapestry! To carpool with other UU Schenectady members, e-mail Catherine and come to the Green Sanctuary Table after service.

And mark your calendars for Sunday, September 28th, our annual Locavore Lunch, in the Dining Room after service! This is our annual celebration of the harvest, where we enjoy delicious local foods and celebrate our congregation’s dedication to the Earth. All are welcome! Free-will donations benefit UU Schenectady. Volunteers always deeply appreciated – bring a dish, cook, or help us set up or clean up!
