UUSS is a Good Trouble Congregation! Join the Celebration!
February 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Congratulations on all the amazing work UU Schenectady has done with UU the Vote 2022!
Register here for the National UU The Vote Inaugural Celebration for Good Trouble Congregations on February 28, at 7 pm ET!
“The vote is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have,” said Rep. John Lewis. He never stopped believing in the power of democracy and the capacities of ordinary people to face injustice with moral courage.
As Unitarian Universalists, we don’t just believe in justice, equity and compassion, but we act to make those values come alive. We’re celebrating our work in a BIG way!
Thank you for working hard to advance democracy by: sending postcards and letters to voters, either by writing them or providing stamps, texting, serving as poll workers, and participating in any other way — the screening of Suppressed: The Fight To Vote, attending the UU The Vote service with Rosemary Bishop, painting rocks and/or creating buttons with VOTE messages, etc.
Register now to attend the Good Trouble Congregation Celebration with President Susan Frederick Gray and special guests, in which 2022 Good Trouble Congregations will be announced and the service of UUs who defended democracy at the polls will be honored.
Every meeting, event, action, and volunteer shift moves us closer to building a multiracial democracy where all voices are heard, and our leaders are accountable to the people. We have embodied our values and demonstrated the collective power of our community. That’s something to celebrate!
Thank you again for your commitment to UU the Vote. It is an honor to be in this defense of democracy with you. Contact Rosemary Bishop rosybishop23@gmail.com or Kat Wolfram kmwolfram@gmail.com for questions and ideas.
