Tour of the Mabee Farm (EBWA’s June program)
June 13 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join the Evening Branch of the Women’s Alliance group on June 13th at 5:30 pm for a tour of the Mabee farm.
Mike Diana, Education Director of the Schenectady County Historical Society, will offer a guided tour of the oldest farm in the Mohawk Valley (1705). We will explore the family home, barn and educational center, and learn about the history of the Mabee family and agricultural life in the 18th century. https://schenectadyhistorical.org/site/.
The cost of the tour is $10 per person. Membership cards are not accepted for private events. The total walking distance for the tour is about 100 feet. Depending on the weather, plan to have an umbrella or raincoat. If the weather is severe, we will cancel early in the day and inform all participants. Be sure to check your email that afternoon! To get to the farm, take I-890 west, past the thruway entrance. Continue on 5S to 1100 Main Street, Rotterdam Junction. The farm is on the right, just past the SI complex (Schenectady International).
Please contact Gabrielle Reals at ellegr3 @gmail.com by June 11th to let her know you are coming. We plan to meet at the site parking lot at 5:30 pm. If anyone needs to park closer, that can be arranged; let Gabrielle know when you email her. (Walk ins are welcome, except we won’t be able to contact you if the tour is canceled due to inclement weather.) After the tour we will gather for a brown bag supper and networking. — All who identify as women are invited to join us for this event.
