EBWA Speaker for May’s program: Nicole Margiasso-Tran, of Planned Parenthood

May 25, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Evening Branch of the Women’s Alliance (EBWA) program for this May is “Planned Parenthood and the Local Fight for Sexual and Reproductive Freedom,” with Nicole Margiasso-Tran, Director of Organizing, Planned Parenthood of Greater NY Action Fund, as the presenter.
Nicole will discuss what the local state of play is regarding sexual and reproductive health care and rights in NY and what Planned Parenthood of Greater NY Action Fund is doing, both to respond to the public health care crisis that we are in, and to advance sexual and reproductive rights and access in New York. — All who identify as women are invited to join us for our third in-person meeting of EBWA (Evening Branch of the Women’s Alliance) this year. Come and learn what Planned Parenthood is up to in these challenging times.
Although we are still unable to offer dinner as we have in the past, we will serve coffee, tea, and dessert before the program. We urge you to arrive by 6:45 pm (use the back door to the church, off the parking lot) so that everyone can greet each other and settle in before Nicole’s talk begins shortly after 7 pm. Following the presentation, there will be time for questions.  Networking (when each woman may share something of interest with the group) will begin around 8:15, and the meeting will end no later than 9pm.
While reservations are not required, in order to have some idea of how many people to expect, it would be helpful if you would email Gabrielle Reals at ellegr3@gmail.com by Tuesday, May 23, to let her know you are coming. As a reminder, there has been no charge for EBWA programs this year, but in order for us to be able to pay our speakers an honorarium, we need your help. Please consider subscribing by sending a $30 check made out to EBWA to Carol Furman (contact her at cfurm13@gmail.com to learn where to send your check). Those who have subscribed may attend the remaining in-person meetings this year for free. All others will be asked to contribute $5 toward our costs, at the door.
