Dr. Nose-a-Lot coming to UUSS on Thursday, Sept. 11

All are invited to RSVP now & join the Daytime Alliance for their first fall luncheon meeting and presentation at 12 noon on Thursday, September 11, in the church dining room with a unique guest speaker — Dr. Nose-a-Lot from Clowns on Rounds.

You’ve heard of music therapy? Well, Clowns on Rounds is a group of professional entertainers disguised as doctors and nurses who provide humor therapy at local hospitals and nursing homes. Pictured here at Ellis Hospital, Dr. Nose-a-Lot and her counterparts (including Dr. Gigglebritches, Dr. Merry Heart, and Dr. Anita Hug) use laughter to reduce patients’ fear, anxiety and blood pressure in health care settings. During Covid, they even took their antics outdoors, using skits, props and posters outside of nursing home windows to help patients feel connected and loved.

Lunch will be $20 at 12 noon provided by Gershon’s and will include Pasta Primavera, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Three Bean Salad and Carrot Cake. The presentation will begin at 1 pm. People of all genders are invited and urged to RSVP by September 2 by contacting Nancy Bogdanowicz.
