Earth Month Activities with the UUSS Green Sanctuary Team

Earth Month is here and we’ve been busy getting ready. Lots of planning and advocacy… Enjoying warmer weather (or not) with walks, hikes, bike rides, marches and rallies. Looking ahead to more of these, and the events listed below, which we hope to share with you all.
  • Sunday, April 10th: Come to the Green Sanctuary table at the back of the Great Hall and learn more about upcoming events for Earth Day and much more! Just like old times! 12noon after our Sunday Service ends, there is still time to go to Greenmarket, now outdoors around Schenectady City Hall on Jay Street. This Sunday at the community table, you can meet the people who are involved in the Schenectady March for Climate. Members of UUSS Green Sanctuary Team are collaborating on this community event, more details below.
  • Wednesday, April 13:  8:30-10am, Green Sanctuary Team monthly planning meeting. All are welcome. To participate contact Nancy Peterson at gs.uuss06@gmail.com or Paula Shaw at georgeandpaula@icloud.com we’ll send the Zoom link and agenda.
  • Friday, April 22:  12noon,  Earth Day Worship Service “Get Rooted, Get Ready!”presented online by UU Ministry for Earth. For details and sign-up link go to https://www.uumfe.org/resources/spring-for-change-2022/
  • Saturday, April 23:   12noon-2:00, Schenectady March for Climate Meet and Rally on City Hall Steps, with speakers and music by Vicki Michela & Mohawk River Harmony. 1.1 mile march thru downtown Schenectady, return to City Hall for more music and speakers. For details go to https://citymarchforclimate.wordpress.com/information/
  • Sunday, April 24: 1:00pm, Earth Day Event in Vale Park sponsored by Schenectady Clergy Against Hate. More details will be posted when available.
