Reverence is defined as a deep respect that is felt or shown. It may be a somber reverence felt at the Vietnam Memorial, an awed reverence experienced on a mountain top or while looking at the night sky, or a joyful reverence of celebration of new birth. Many winter holidays and holy days include rituals and practices that invite reverence. This month we’ll explore reverence; recognizing it, how it can be evoked, and how it can surprise us, breaking through to shift our awareness.
