COVID Prevention/Response Update March 22nd

The numbers here are ok via CovidActNow. And there is a new variant that so far isn’t impacting locally. We have been utilizing masks and distancing in the Great Hall to continue to prioritize the well-being of the most vulnerable among us including those who have family members under 5 who aren’t eligible for vaccination and those with systems that are immunocompromised. Thank you.
Attendance in the Great Hall continues to increase as folks find themselves ready to be in-person indoors. We appreciate when folks register ahead of time so we have a sense of how to configure the rows in the Great Hall. And if you can register even earlier in this week, it will help us better prepare for Celebration Sunday. Thanks for navigating all that too.
The air exchange unit has been repaired (thank you Randy Jennings and John Harpis!) and more and more data is coming in to show the importance of air exchange in public places on our health.
Religious education classes began this past Sunday (yay!), the choir and some teams have started meeting in person.
We are meeting with our member physicians-Dr. Kim Kilby and Dr. David Pratt this week to continue checking in on best practices and recommendations. We will continue to monitor the numbers. If we need to shift attendance-whether by limiting the numbers of folks in-person or going back to fully on Zoom, we’ll let you know.
Thank you also to those of you who have chosen to stay home if you had symptoms or contacted us if you’ve developed any symptoms to let us know of test results. We are all interdependent and this is a great way for us to take care of each other.
In the meantime, we are just celebrating all that we all have been able to experience together up to this point. Thank you for your patience as we learn how to do multi-platform worship and for your company on this journey, a journey that none of us have ever been on and towards a destination where none of us have been before.
