Co-Ministers’ Colloquy – Oct. 24th

Over the past month we’ve been exploring October’s theme: A Circle of Belonging. We have named and used several resources and wanted to share a couple of them with you, as we’ve had a few requests. This past Sunday, Wendy shared a powerful reading from the book, This Here Flesh: Spirituality, Liberation, and the Stories that Make Us by Cole Aurthur Riley. Riley weaves stories from three generations in her family exploring dignity, belonging, and liberation.

We have each shared excerpts and lessons from Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg’s On Repentance and Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World, which is this year’s Common Read for the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). We hope to offer a four-session Adult Faith Development class later this year to see what we might learn as we reflect together. Both books are available at local libraries, locally owned bookstores, or online at the UUA Bookstore.

We are grateful for these, and other resources that invite us to share our stories authentically, and to tend to relationships as we widen our circle of belonging.
