Co-Ministers’ Colloquy – May 10th

What will you do to make the world more beautiful? That was what we asked folks during worship on Sunday, inspired by the story, “Miss Rumphius” by Barbara Cooney, and by the poem, “The Pact” by the Rev. Bob Janis-Dillon. Creativity and beauty can be a balm for our weary spirits, and a source of joy, which is part of the mission of this congregation.

Responses were written onto ribbons, which were then tied onto a willow wreath (thank you Leah, Fiona, and Christy). The responses included water color painting, playing and interpreting music, making some hanging baskets full of flowers, a new relationship with my great aunt, saying hello to people I pass, continue writing memoir stories, plant a pollinator garden, create a play at school and start a drama club…and so many more!

We share a picture of the wreath here, and you can see it up close if you are at the church this Sunday. Creativity. Beauty. Community.
