This month, as we explore March’s theme of polarities and paradoxes, we recognize that congregations need both tradition and innovation.
We need the comfort and familiarity that comes with rituals of tradition and we need to be able to respond to an ever-changing world with creativity and flexibility that often requires some innovation. Both/and.
As we begin to create whatever this new normal is going to become for the congregation, there will be traditions that remain and others that fall away. There will be innovative experiments-some will remain and become traditions, while others will fall away. The ebb and flow of the ocean tides and the seasonal changes also exist within congregational life.
With anticipation~ Rev. Lynn and Rev. Wendy
