Dear UUSSers!
We have had some particularly powerful and diverse musical offerings in the last couple of weeks during worship! We are so grateful for Tim Olsen as he nears his one-year anniversary as Music Director at UUSS! And at this week’s lunch and cabaret, we get to celebrate more music and poetry and joy and deliciousness!
While there is much to fear, much to repair, and much to transform, there is also much beauty, connection, and joy to celebrate in the world. We need to tend to both in religious community. Our resilience can wane under stress, overwhelm, and dire circumstances and we have been bombarded with all of that and more. It is ok to take a breath, to take a break from the news, to take care of yourself, to engage in spiritual practices such as journaling, prayer, dance, grounding with the Earth meditation, drumming, drawing, or any other activity that you do with intention, attention, and repetition to tend to your well being.
If you need some spiritual sustenance or ideas for increasing your resilience, speak to one of us.
If you want to find a way to connect more deeply, we’d love to know that too. There is a place for your gifts here!
We hope to see you at Cabaret!!!
In faith,
Rev. Wendy and Rev. Lynn
