Co-Ministers’ Colloquy – Jan. 18th

As many of you know, Side with Love is a public advocacy campaign that seeks to harness love’s power to stop oppression. It is sponsored by our Unitarian Universalist Association, the UUA, of which this congregation is a member.
Side with Love invites us all to participate in ‘30 days of love’ from MLK Day to Valentine’s Day. This year, they’ve created and curated some really important tools and experiences for doing the work of justice as people of faith.
The Rev. Dr. King was a spiritual leader first, who also was a community organizer engaged in non-violent direct action. His faith and the spiritual practices that were at the center of the organizing work of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s were key to many of the successes of the many campaigns that happened. The people were held and sustained by their love of God and their faithful practices of prayer, song, and worship.
The Side with Love office knows this. So they have put together resources and activities for all ages through Feb. 14. 30 days of love-https://sidewithlove.org/30-days-of-love-2022   Check them out. Let us know what you learn or experience that is interesting or meaningful. UUSS’ mission includes compassion, justice, and joy, and this is a chance for a bit more of all three!
In faith~ Rev. Wendy & Rev. Lynn
