What brings you genuine joy? How does it feel in your body? What might we plant right now in the midst of the terrible things that are happening which will yield joy when tended? What little things in your life lead to bigger joy? While grief and hardship can build a bond between us for having survived a challenging time, healing can lead us to more joy and more joy strengthens us in healthy ways. Who brings you joy? Where does joy come from? Easter and Earth Day are days where grief and joy are woven very closely.
In this congregation, we make room for both. Here we are planting seeds of authenticity and vulnerability, tending them with integrity and compassion, watering them with tears and laughter, weeding out cynicism and fear, coaxing us towards the warmth of community and the fire of commitment, that all may grow in harmony with the good.
