How do we learn to be compassionate? brave? kind?

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, the Episcopal Bishop of Washington, DC, in her book, How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith explores the subtle and the obvious, the tiny and the large ways that life calls us to show up with courage. As we celebrate 125 years of being, when have we been brave? When did we learn from mistakes? Where does compassion and kindness make a difference? What is there still to explore and embrace?
