We’re reaching for short stories as September brings us back into the school year and busy schedules with If I Had Two Wings, by master storyteller and creative writing professor Randall Kenan. Written in 2020, his stories revolve around the residents of the fictional town of Tim’s Creek, North Carolina. Published just before his sudden, unexpected death, the book was named to the National Book Award Longlist for Fiction.
