When Communities Grieve

November’s theme is grief and gratitude.  We can grieve the loss of someone or something we care about and sorrow might be felt in the recognition of that loss. Gratitude might be felt in the recognition of the legacy left to us. Individuals grieve. Whole communities grieve as well. What does communal grief look like?  What kinds of responses are called for?  Is there communal gratitude?
