The Co-Ministers look to September

We know that terrible things continue to happen in the wider world and in our nation. Still, we hope summer has provided at least a few opportunities for rest, renewal, repair, and/or restoration. To give our families with kids a chance to get the school year started, we’re going to have our annual Ingathering the second Sunday of September. We will celebrate our community and the beginning of a new church year together, including a Water Communion.

Everyone is invited to bring a small bit of water from someplace that symbolizes your summer-perhaps a local pond, a swimming pool, the ocean, your own faucet or hose. We will co-mingle the precious water that we collect, honor the water for its nourishment, and then purify and prepare the gathered waters to be used in other rituals throughout the year.

After this multigenerational service celebrating Unitarian Universalism and our religious community, we’ll have a shared meal. Bring a potluck dish to serve 8-12 people and a card with the ingredients as we have several folks with food allergies, needs, as well as preferences. (See below for sign-up.) We look forward to seeing you and to meeting some of you who have started attending this summer! -Rev. Lynn and Rev. Wendy
