Philosophy Discussion Group

July 31 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

All are welcome to join in, whether just for one week or for many!

The UU Schenectady Philosophy Group next meets online on Wednesday, July 31 from 10:00 am until 12 noon. Jose M. Sainz will facilitate a discussion on the importance of language in the development of humans, and how language came to be.

As an introduction to the topic, here are some notes taken by Jose from the book Ideas, by Peter Watson, 2005, NY Harper Perennial: https://uuschenectady.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Watson-Ideas-LanguageOrigins.pdf

Books we have read delve into the ideas and the written word about – knowledge, truth, reality, reason, ethics, and government. NO prior knowledge of philosophy is needed to participate. To obtain a list of books we have read, have questions, or get on our contact list, please email Gerry Schuth at gerry@schuth.com .
