Summer Meals Program & other Summer Opportunities with the Sycamore Collaborative

Did you know that UUSS was one of the founding congregations of SiCM, now Sycamore Collaborative? If your family would benefit from visiting the food pantry, or summer meals for kids, or if you would like to volunteer in these vital programs or at one of the Urban Farms, learn more here: Summer MealsUrban Farms, and Pantry Initiatives – Volunteers for either one time or a more long-term commitment are welcome.

For many years, UUSS members have volunteered serving free lunches as part of the SiCM Summer Meals Program. With school out, this program is the only source of healthy meals for many Schenectady children and youth. This year, with public funding cuts, the Sycamore Collaborative is running a tighter operation relying more on volunteers and partners. Please consider volunteering a few hours to serve meals. And if you don’t have time, please consider making a financial contribution. To learn how you can help, please contact Cali Buxton-Pham, the Collaborative’s resource development coordinator, at cali at sycamorecollab.org, or 518-374-2683 ext. 103.

Thank you.
