Co-Ministers’ Colloquy – June 18th

This week is the General Assembly (GA) of the Unitarian Universalist Association, when UUs from across the continent (and around the world) participate in workshops, worship, and delegates from each congregation in the UUA are eligible to participate in business sessions of the denomination. UUs have congregational polity. That means that important decision making power lies with member congregations, including electing leaders, and making changes to the bylaws. After almost four years of work, delegates will vote on the proposed changes to Article ll. We are grateful to UUSS’ delegates, Mike MacLaury, Heide and Dick Westergard, Catherine Miller, & Margie Allen who have already been attending mini-assemblies and considering amendments to the rules that will shape the business sessions, final amendments to the proposed bylaws, and Actions of Immediate Witness that will be voted on by the whole assembly. Our shared conversations and decisions don’t just shape the bylaws, but they help to shape us, too, and clarify our understanding as we listen, reflect, and consider how we want to vote, and how we will live.

Before GA begins, we are attending Ministry Days, and there are professional days for the other religious professional organizations, too. We are grateful for this time of online connection, reflection, learning, and worship with colleagues.

As the temperatures rise this week, we hope you are staying hydrated, cool, and safe.

With care, and in faith~ Rev. Lynn & Rev. Wendy
