Conversation about the recent Women’s Uprising in Iran

November 13, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Elahe Gol Pari will share her first-hand account about the women’s uprising in Iran protesting the death of a young woman imprisoned for not properly wearing a hijab head scarf. Elahe just spent seven months in Iran visiting friends and family. While she was there, the surge of brave Iranian women and students standing in solidarity for freedom against oppression began. Since returning to the US, she has remained active in the struggle providing internet and content support to her countrywomen and men. Elahe feels obliged to tell their story and we are lucky to have an opportunity to hear what she has to say and ask her questions.
Who is Elahe Gol Pari? – Elahe Gol Pari is first and foremost, a seeker. A playwright, screenwriter, performer and documentary filmmaker discovering the range of human capabilities in the face of adversity and revealing individual’s power in overcoming obstacles has been the primary subject for most of her work. These concerns are rooted in Elahe’s four-decade experience living under the religious dictatorship of her home country, Iran.
