The Rev. Kathleen McTigue wrote that we gather in community for worship, “to remind one another to rest for a moment on the forming edge of our lives, to resist the headlong tumble into the next moment, until we claim for ourselves awareness and gratitude.” It is a time of year when we sometimes particularly experience a “headlong tumble into the next moment,” with all of fall activities ramping up. After the past couple of years we are so grateful for these activities, and also aware that we are continuing to co-create new ways of gathering and new ways of being in community.
As we said last week in Circuits, we are so grateful for all those who led and attended worship, religious education, adult faith development programs, kayak and canoe trips, #UUtheVote activities, continued the work of teams, advisory committees and the Board, and all the ways that folks cared for one another this summer. The shared ministry of the congregation is year-round, and there are so many ways to participate!
Today, we invite you receive a breath… and feel yourself supported by the Earth, wherever you are reading this. Know that you are connected to others at UUSS, through care and through covenant, and that you are needed and you are loved. We hope to see you soon, whether you participate on Zoom or in person.
With anticipation, and in faith~
