Super Summer Happenings:
Show and Tell and Check-in for children up to 5th grade–the next one is scheduled for Wednesday, 7/15: A fun, informal time for us to be together and chat, share something special from home, and check in and enjoy each other’s company. Wednesdays, every other week, at 10:30. A link will be included in next week’s Circuits.
Summer Children’s Chapel for grades K-5 will take place following services, on Sundays, July 26th and August 23rd, at 11:30. Would you and your family like to lead a virtual Children’s Chapel? There will be lots of help along the way, if you’d like. It should run about 30 minutes and include a chalice lighting and check in, maybe a story or virtual game appropriate for all family members, maybe a little bit of conversation and connection, and then ending with an extinguishing of the chalice and closing words.
Grades 10, 11, and 12, our Senior Youth, meet Sundays at 1. The Zoom link for their time together will be shared with them and their parents by their advisors.
Faith Lab for Senior Youth:
Faith Lab is an engaging online summer program for high school aged Unitarian Universalists who’ve completed grads 9-12 (or homeschool equivalent) that happens July 10th through 31st. Faith Lab is a chance to explore spiritual leadership, learn alongside UU spiritual teachers, and experiment with mystery, faith and wonder.
In Faith Lab, you will discern your unique gifts, explore spiritual practices and build community together Inspired by the work of the UUA New England Region, Faith Lab is brought to you with love by Rev. Aisha, Cora, Jennica, Rev. Kimberly and Steven.
Cost is a sliding scale: $0, $75, $150, $255 to $300 + donation More info here: https://www.uua.org/youth/events/uu-faith-lab
You might wonder, what’s the difference between this and the CER Treehouse? The CER Treehouse will be more drop in events, some planned by youth, some planned by adults. It’s a great place for lots of youth, from youth who don’t know how much of a commitment they want to make to youth who want to practice leadership by making things happen. AND youth can do both the CER Treehouse and the UU Faith Lab!
I will be off for professional development through 7/10. In my absence, Congregational Life Coordinator Kristin Cleveland will be available if you have an urgent RE matter: clc@uuschenectady.org.
Remember to get some fresh air, wash your hands, and please stay healthy and safe!
