Co-Ministers’ Colloquy – June 2nd

Dear ones-As we said on Sunday, get clear on your answer to the questions – Whose am I? and Whose are we? Then, get clear on what you are willing to do and what you are willing to risk for those answers. We are facing a crucial moment.

Breathe-and do so remembering those who can no longer.

Focus-even though you will want to avert your eyes, distract yourself, disbelieve what is happening right in front of us, and/or distance yourself from this pain.

Find your place-is it on the streets? is it raising children who can love and think critically? is it making phone calls to the governors of every state and telling them to resist military presence in their cities? is it making masks? is it leading a spiritual practice to prepare us for the revolution? is it making sure everyone in Schenectady has enough food, water, shelter, masks? Is it being an essential worker? Is it keeping yourself safe? We can not do all the things. We must do all that we can do, though.

Prepare-The fascists will try to divide us. Don’t let them. Stick together. Love mightily. Lean into fear and discomfort. Trust your gut. Listen for Love’s call and answer to the best of your ability. We’ve got some spiritual work to do to strengthen ourselves. Tap into your fire of commitment.

Responsible Solidarity-Follow the leaders who demonstrate your values. Amplify the voices of leaders of color, trans leaders, etc. Show up with your beautiful, imperfect hearts. Don’t just forward articles. Fact check everything. Don’t take the click bait. Together, we are more.

Stay connected- Attend worship when you can. Call someone you miss. Sit quietly and check in with how you are feeling. Touch the Earth. Know we are here. With love, commitment, and care~ Rev. Wendy and Rev. Lynn
