This is RE June 12th

UUSS RE Rocks!  Religious Education students, grades 1-5, are invited to meet in the entryway at Waters House this Sunday, June 17, for outdoor Children’s Chapel (weather permitting) and a special activity. Please have the kids wear sneakers and clothes that are mess-friendly! When you see the kids after the service, be sure to ask them why UUSS RE rocks!

Want to experience a different kind of spirituality? Consider teaching Religious Education this fall! The goal is to have teams of three teachers for every class, with a team of four advisors for the Senior Youth, so that teachers can rotate and still have the opportunity to attend services on a regular basis. Spending time with UU kids is an opportunity not to be missed! Contact DLRE Robin Ahearn at dlre@uuschenectady.org if you’d like to discuss the possibility of helping to grow our UU future!

Childcare provider needed for the UUSS nursery on Sundays from 10-12. Candidates must be 18 years old or older; hourly salary is $15. A background check is required. If interested, please contact DLRE Robin Ahearn at dlre@uuschenectady.org.

Subject: Invitation to respond, Youth Programming questionnaire

Dear Parents and Sr Youth,
We are looking ahead to next year, and to all of the ways that religious education is offered to youth at UUSS. We have a youth group with Sunday morning classes and social activities, multigen worship services, district and regional youth cons, Gold Mine leadership school, learning/service trips, General Assembly, Hudson-Mohawk cluster events, interfaith youth justice opportunities, and all-congregation events. How are these working? What else might be offered? When could your family participate?

If you (or a youth in your family) will be in 9th-12th grade or the equivalent next year, and weren’t able to attend the youth/parent gathering on May 31st, or, if you were, but you have more to say, please contact Robin Ahearn at dlre@uuschenectady.org to have the appropriate form sent to you for completion. Your voice matters! A group of youth and adults will meet to review feedback, and suggest youth program opportunities to UUSS staff. Are you interested in participating in the group that will meet over the summer, let Robin know that, too!

The Nursery is available for children five and under during services. As always, all Children and Youth are welcome to attend worship services.
