EBWA Program: January 26th

“Mushing in the Boundary Waters Wilderness of Minnesota”: Jean Quattrocchi. When world famous Arctic and polar explorer, Paul Schurke established a dogsled lodge in Ely, Minnesota, he “staffed” it with the world’s finest Canadian Inuit dogs, the original sled dogs of the high Arctic.  He also recruited handlers, including Jean Quattrocchi, long time member of the Adirondack Mountain Club.  Jean will speak at the Evening Branch of the Women’s Alliance (EBWA) on January 26.   She will show slides demonstrating how she was trained to drive and care for these majestic canines while crossing miles of Minnesota snowscape.  Jean will also describe Ely and the Boundary Waters.

Join EBWA women in the dining room at 5:45 pm for socializing with juice or wine before a catered vegetarian dinner is served at 6:15 pm.  Networking, a chance to share with the group something of interest to you, precedes the program.  If you plan to attend the program only, plan on arriving before 8 pm.  To make reservations for the dinner, e-mail Gabrielle Reals at ellegr3@gmail.com by Monday, January 23 or by calling her by Tuesday, January 24 at 382-5685 before 8 pm. You may request a gluten-free meal when you make your reservations.  You may also bring your own dinner if you prefer.  Cost of the entire evening is $15; program only is $3.  All women are welcome.

Looking Ahead: On February 23 immigration attorney Leslie Thiele will address Immigration: Understanding the Maze.
