Our Annual Focus of Ministry includes an examination of the barriers to building beloved community. As many of you know, we have been experimenting with some technology for the hearing impaired using wifi and a closed captioning application AVA. The Porter’s have offered to assist us with paying for a one-year subscription for the service. We need an iPad or tablet to connect the device to our sound system. If you are upgrading technology at the holidays and you have a gently used device that is up-to-date in its security features, operating systems, etc. would you consider donating it to UUSS?

One of the other barriers that was identified and addressed was raising the back apron to the back door so that there wasn’t a drop step at the door. Two safety doors were also added in addition to all that concrete. We have more aspirations for accessibility. Might you consider making a donation to the Building Fund this holiday season to help us continue this important work?
