SUMMARY:Interfaith Thanksgiving Service
DESCRIPTION:In response to so much harm in the world\, Schenectady Clergy A
gainst Hate (SCAH) says\, "No to hatred. No to violence. No to fearing one
another." At the core of all our faith traditions is a movement to bring
more love\, more justice\, more compassion\, and more understanding to the
world. We invite the community to join together to acknowledge both the g
ratitude of our lives\, the complex grief of the history of the Thanksgivi
ng holiday and how the legacy of those stories continues to perpetuate har
m and division. We can be the remedy to the sickness of hatred. We are all
called to be kind\, to be respectful\, and to build connections grounded
in compassion and love. The service begins at 7p with celebration and comm
unity building time to follow over refreshments. All are welcome and sprea
d the word with your friends\, family and neighbors!

SUMMARY:Women of the Saratoga Campaign
DESCRIPTION:The Evening Branch of Women's Alliance (EBWA) program for Janua
ry will be Women of the Saratoga Campaign\, presented by Anne Clothier\,
Assistant to Saratoga County Historian.\n\nMany know the story of British
General John Burgoyne's Surrender to the Americans after the Battles of Sa
ratoga in 1777\, commonly referred to as the Turning Point of the American
Revolution\, but what about the women who were also involved in this cruc
ial campaign? This month’s EBWA program focuses on lesser known stories
of women on both sides of the conflict and shares their perspectives on wa
ys their lives were forever changed by these events.\n\nOur speaker Anne C
lothier grew up immersed in history on her family's 200-year-old farm in n
orthern Saratoga County. She earned her B.S. degree in History from SUNY-
Oneonta\, and while attending the Cooperstown Graduate Program in Museum S
tudies\, she worked on projects at the Farmers' Museum\, Fenimore Art Muse
um\, and NYS Historical Association. She served as Director of Education a
t the Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa for over a decade before becoming A
ssistant to the Saratoga County Historian in 2024. All are invited to join
us for what promises to be a fascinating program of the Evening Branch of
the Women’s Alliance (EBWA).\n\nWhile we plan to resume in-person meeti
ngs in March\, we will meet on Zoom in January and February. If you alread
y receive EBWA announcements from Judy Clough\, or Daytime Alliance announ
cements from Christy Multer\, you will automatically be sent the Zoom invi
tation and do not need to request one. If you do not usually get these em
ail announcements\, please email Judy Clough by Tuesday\, January 27 to re
ceive an invitation to join the Zoom program.\n\nSign into the meeting bet
ween 6:50 and 7:00pm. After welcoming remarks\, the speaker will be intro
duced. Following the presentation\, there will be time for questions. Net
working (when each attendee may share something of interest with the group
) will begin around 8:15\, and the meeting will end no later than 9pm.\n\n
Looking ahead: On Feb. 26 our program\, “The NYS Abortion Landscape Sin
ce the Dobbs Decision\," will be presented by Cassandra Klewicki\, Reprodu
ctive Justice Advocate.\n\nTo see the full calendar of EBWA programs for 2
