SUMMARY:EBWA Program for February: The NYS Abortion Landscape Since the Dobbs Decision
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Cassandra Klewicki\, Reproductive Justice Advocate \nAt the upcoming program of the Evening Branch of the Women’s Alliance (EBWA)\, Cassandra Klewicki will discuss the current abortion landscape in the United States\, including how access has shifted since the fall of Roe v. Wade\, what these changes mean for patients and providers\, and how New York State is being impacted as a major access point for out-of-state care. Cassandra currently serves as an intake coordinator for the New York Abortion Access Fund where she supervises case managers and supports complex cases including patients seeking care from out of state. She travels the country speaking on issues of abortion access and reproductive healthcare in the United States. — All are invited to join us for what promises to be an informative EBWA program. This program will be held on Zoom only. \nWhile we plan to resume in-person meetings in March\, we will meet on Zoom in February. If you already receive EBWA announcements from Judy Clough\, or Daytime Alliance announcements from Christy Multer\, you will automatically be sent the Zoom invitation and do not need to request one.  If you do not usually get these email announcements\, please email Judy at mimaclough@yahoo.com by Tuesday\, February 24 to receive an invitation to join the Zoom program. \nSign into the meeting between 6:50 and 7:00pm.  After welcoming remarks\, the speaker will be introduced. Following the presentation\, there will be time for questions.  Networking (when each attendee may share something of interest with the group) will begin around 8:15\, and the meeting will end no later than 9pm. \nLooking ahead:  On March 26 we will co-host a lunch meeting with the Daytime Alliance\, 11:45- 2:00. Our program\, “Beyond the Campfire: How the Adirondack Wilderness Lured More Than Just the Sportsmen\,” will feature Laura Baker\, Licensed Adirondack Guide. \nTo see the full calendar of EBWA programs for 2025-2026\, click HERE.
