Co-Ministers’ Colloquy – Sept. 21st

Our hearts are happy and grateful for the opportunity to share worship with so many of you on Sunday…and for the beauty of the day itself, and the ways that the wind, water, birds, butterflies, sunshine, and trees participated, too! Tomorrow is the Equinox, and the first day of Autumn. We will do some yoga outside to welcome the day. We have a butternut squash from our garden that will become the first pot of soup of the season, as we pause to give thanks for the summer and welcome the turn of the wheel into fall. In the past week we have seen v’s of geese flying overhead, bringing to mind lines from poet Mary Oliver:
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
This week we invite a sense of balance, honouring the Equinox, and the moments of simple grace and beauty that call us to be fully present.
In faith~ Rev. Lynn and Rev. Wendy
