The Daytime Alliance and the Evening Branch of the Women’s Alliance are combining their programs for the month of December.

All are invited to start donating small items to benefit needy children & families using the Sycamore Collaborative (formerly SICM) Food Pantry on Albany Street in Schenectady. This will be the 4th annual Holiday Stocking Stuffer project sponsored by the UUSS Daytime Alliance, and this year we are excited to hold it jointly with EBWA too.

Here’s how it works:

We provide the stockings, you provide the contents — namely, small items for children ages 3 – 12. The Food Pantry has specifically asked for essential items of toothpaste, toothbrushes, children’s winter hats & mittens. Small stuffed animals, toys, books, stickers & art/craft supplies are good too. Bring these to church with you and put them in the labeled box at the back of the Great Hall .

Then join us in the church Dining Room on Thursday, Dec. 5, to stuff the stockings, have lunch together & learn about the Sycamore Collaborative’s recent initiatives from their executive director, Rev. Tanon-Santos. We will enjoy a Hot Buffet Lunch from Gershon’s for $20. The plan is to stuff the stockings at 11:00, eat at noon, and hear from Rev. Tanon-Santos at 1:00. All genders are welcome!
