What 16th Century religious leader originated the principles of modern Unitarian Universalism
during the Protestant Reformation? How did these religions that originated in Europe come to
America, and what 4 US founding fathers attended UU services? How did a large number of
remarkable women play a role in reshaping UUism and American life after the Civil War? Why
is Martin Luther King’s Selma march considered a pivotal moment in UU history? These and
many other questions will be answered in the six-part UU history series Long Strange Trip which
will meet on Monday evenings at 7 pm in the Emerson Room and on Zoom starting April 3.
Classes will consist of a one-hour video followed by discussion.
