In the early days of Green Sanctuary, before we got busy with the Climate Justice Project, we worked on four realms of the Green Sanctuary program. One was called Worship and Celebration. On Saturday, June 3rd we will be taking a hike at Schodack Island State Park. I would like to suggest we pause and think about our Spring/Summer Outing in that light.
Communing with Nature is a strong and ancient spiritual practice for both UU’s and people from other backgrounds. People turn to Nature during times of trouble and turmoil, for healing, for joy and inspiration. Spring and Summer bring out the blossoming of Mother Earth, a time to celebrate life. Let’s each think of a joy we want to celebrate. Perhaps write it on a leaf or flower and plant a special spring picnic garden to make our joys grow. Nancy Peterson
